Vintage Shaver
Seattle, WA
Eufros Tobacco shaving soap. I'm not really fond of this; it's too spicy and sweet for me, overpowering the tobacco tone. I have a newer one from him that seems to have been reformulated. It smells earthier.

Covid struck!  But I’m back in the saddle and man does a good shave brighten a day!  I’ll make a thread about my Covid experience later (not political of course) but I returned from a conference in Nashville recently and quarantined in the basement.  That sucks when you love your bride, but it sure turned out to be the right thing to do.  I’ve learned that shaving is hugely ritualistic for me and kit I wasn’t even aware was important suddenly it terribly missed when I go to get a shave on!  I have enough moved down to hold me for the next ten days or so.  Marlborough today and I thought I’d throw in the pic of the sliver of soap left and yes, it’s a sliver.  I hold soaps in my palm to load so I don’t really get much of a dish shaped hole.  Keeps my wooden container nice and I feel I get a much better load.  How many shaves has it got left?  Any guesses? Oh, and I lucked out so far and still have my sense of smell although muted.

Once ubiquitous, now seldom seen on these pages, Cade deserves more respect than it gets.  Love the scent.  Thanks for posting.

I believe I have read that this has been reformulated to uselessness.

Seems bound to happen.  I pray not but I have enough good stuff to get me to the undertaker I suppose.  That really would be sad if it’s the new Trumpers.

I'm really hoping I get the chance to shave tonight and will definitely be using Flying Mango even though I also got Eufros Boreal in yesterday as well...it was the Labor Sales that broke me Smile    Your description is certainly apt.  The balsamic/lavender are what I pick up most and they tend to blend to a soft cologne-like vibe.  Definitely a wonderful scent and I can't wait to see how it lathers

The latest version of CADE cream (in the tube) is a shamefully sad disappointment IMO.  I've also owned (and liked) the CADE jar version that L'Occitane used to make, and the earlier version of the cream, but I was so disgusted with the latest cream that I PIFed it.

Having voiced my criticisms in this forum, it seems only fair to mention that I was referring to the cream and not to the soap.  I did not even know the soap had been reformulated.

Clay Face
Honolulu, Hawaii
Spitfire t. (Phoenix & Beau) leather juniper
Shave 21 ・ 51% left

Spitfire just gets better and better. It started out tough and obstinate about loading, but a dripping brush and two-hundred swirls every morning has done wonders to change its attitude. Now I’m burning through five grams of soap for each shave. The lather looks like fresh cream, it's slicker than oil on ice, and it smells like an old barn. I'm a happy camper, and my face hasn’t felt this good for ages; but I won’t be surprised if Spitfire’s gone in a fortnight.
