Not long ago it was common to see Dr. Selbys soap in SOTD and BST. Alas, those days are past and this easy to lather, wonderfully scented marvel is scarcer than hens teeth. The container is no where near as nice as Tabac, Mitchell’s, Nuavia, etc but it is distinctive and for a consumable, perfectly workable. I still see the cream very occasionally but the soap seems to either no longer be in production or someone found asbestos in the mix and we cannot any longer import it. (No, it doesn’t contain asbestos). Sure offers a great shave and I’m glad to have this green puck of soap.

Sitting around the shack for eighteen months has played havoc with my morning routine. The office reopened last week, and since then I’ve managed to leave my wallet on the dresser, forget my keys, disremember a dozen passwords, and today I couldn’t even find my parking spot. I’m derailed (or demented), and I’m having to pay careful attention to everything.
Though I never stopped shaving, even this well worn routine has gone wonky. This morning I forgot to shake out my dripping brush before I took it to the tub. The result? Well, for once, something marvelous. Heavy, wet, slick and juicy, this was the best heap of shaving cream I’ve ever coaxed out of this soap. Turns out Spitfire can soak up far more water than I ever expected and is capable of producing a truly splendid lather.

Strongly suspect people way under hydrate their lather based on lather porn shots.
My experience has been the best lather is SLIGHTLY runny. Mile high peaks of lather porn always look great but result in rough, irritating shaves for those with truly sensative, damaged skin
