Been on the road and incommunicado for a few days but it’s good to be back home and cooler weather. I found this soap in the bottom of a box pand frankly it saddened me to have missed using it this spring and summer but I throughly enjoyed it this day! Summer Storm is all about petrichor, the scent of the air when it first starts to rain. I have always loved this scent even before I knew there was a name for it. Although I adore a great rain, the petrichor scent is all about springtime irrigation. There is not a better scent in the world than when the sprinklers wet dusty ground when the sun is high and hot. There is nothing better than dust yielding to a small stream of water from a syphon tube trails down a brand new corrugate. My gosh, it smells like life.
Figaró - Hungarian shaving cream made and marketed by the local cosmetics company Caola - the same one that produces the awesome Barbon splash. Figaró has probably been around for decades, being one of the very few options local men used to have for shaving creams or soaps. Smells nice and clean and is lightly mentholated. Lathers easy, slickness is good. Dirt cheap in its homeland ($1.7 / 3 oz) although not easy to find in brick and mortar stores, in fact to get some I had to order it online at Tesco and have it delivered at the hotel (it's such a pitty local traditional products are sometimes so hard to find and are replaced on store shelves by dominant international brands like Nivea or Gillette). To sum up, Figaró - a mass market delight.
