French Vetiver Cream v. (Cyril R. Salter) smoky vetiver
Shave 6 ・ 85% left

A pre-dawn shave calls for something special. Early this morning I chose French Vetiver because I needed a rude slap to help me come to my senses. I was looking for a clobbering, and I got it: the smoke, the rotting vegetation, the rust, it was all there. Woke me right up and helped me enjoy watching the sun rise out of the sea.

Crabtree & Evelyn - Sienna (Potassium Palmate first)

How dare I go this far into August without using Sienna! A classic that really should have never been discontinued. What else is new?

adding another little dent to my stash of SV Colonia, it's gotten a lot of use this year and last year because I like the smell and my face feels good after the shave

works well for me

Working in Phoenix this week and grateful that Idaho’s super hot summer prepped me for this!  People say, “but it’s a dry heat”.  So is my oven and I don’t wish to be in there either.  Holy Hotness!  But yesterday I did find time to swing by Razor Emporium and pick up a couple of their soaps.  This morning I used “Citrus” because, well, I like citrus scents.  The soap is super easy to use and builds a higher structure lather that I enjoy.  Mid-thirsty, this veg soap obviously has steric as its first ingredient.  It’s made on premises and is all essential oil scented and thankfully this has the peel included which lends just a bit of “wood” to the mix.  Although it contains Shea butter I found it just a tad drying but as you know that is not even close to a deal breaker to me as I add some Shea post shave anyway.  It was fun meeting Matt.  I knew he was tall but sheesh!  I’m 6’4” and he’s a head taller.
