Ethos Safi….I’m finding the wonderful vanilla scent increases in intensity as it ages…which is great!

I got to play with this soap a little longer this morning. The soap base can really take the water, and it absolutely needs it. The soap consistency is quite soft, borderline croap. It's pasty until enough water is added...then it gets nice. Really nice. Plenty slick and dense.

Great performance, as I've come to expect from Ethos. Unfortunately, it was in the low 70s today, and the scent just wasn't a great match. Either Mother nature needs to step up and give us true August weather, or I'm going to have to switch scents. It might be time to break into the sample of Colonia.

Weather is a bit cooler today after a stinking heat wave so I chose a more springlike soap in Trumpers Violets.  It smells like, well, violets and is very floral without being girly.  Potassium Palmate keeps the lather strong and this one is also very slick.  Trumpers current offering unfortunately is garbage for shaving soap.  Creams are still good though.  Come on man!  Get your act together because I love the scent of Eucris.

She sat in Bull Creek while I set camp.  It was well north of 100 degrees.  I joined her shortly after.

I’ve had this tin of soap for a year now, and for the first time I’m picking up a solid vetiver note. It’s always been there, but it’s been crouching under the sagebrush and soda. Thankfully, those notes have calmed down now, and I’m getting that nice grassy tang vetiver is renowned for. Joy at last. I also followed Nero’s example as I loaded today: my drenched synth got only one shake and time for a few dribbles. Then it was straight to the tin, where I loaded with a reckless lack of restraint. What did I get? I huge heap of lather that covered not only my face, but also the walls, the sink, and the blinds. Now I’ve got a well shaved chin and a much cleaner bath. Life’s grand.
