This one’s a cream in name only. I can’t even call it a croap. I’m afraid this soap’s soft-and-billowing days are long past. Now nicely middle aged, it performs well, but things have got a little leathery and shriveled. Smaller, too. I just opened it, and found it only ¾ full. No worries, though. It still smells very nice, and after some determined loading, it still makes a slick lather. But it must have been marvelous in its prime.

Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements - Ice Cube 2.0 Pre-shave Soap

Ok, I'm a liar sometimes. But at least I can admit it. And I'm not ruining anything in the process.

I SAY that I like all four seasons and the change of seasons and all that fluff.

I'm lying. I hate summer.

If it's too hot to go outside for 2 minutes between 9:42am and 8:42pm...

If it's too hot to be inside without air conditioning on...

Not sure what's to like.

Spring and Fall are in the 70s, what do we need summer for? I'll take October over July any day of the week.

I wasn't even planning on shaving... I just was washing my face with this mentholated pre-shave soap for the 3rd time today to cool down. Rant over.

Two incredibly easy, comfortable passes.

Nice clean well blended scent, good overall performance and it lathered up easily.  Trying some new soaps and this one is a keeper. I also like the use of Xylitol in the formula. Only wish I had remembered to bring a Lime Skin Food Splash home. So went right to the cologne.

I'm with Nero, it's time for this hot/humid weather to go away!  Bring on the 40's and 50's with a little bit of sunshine!  Thankfully, i have a few mentholated soaps, witch hazel, and splashes to get me through a half hour or so of the stickiness Smile

The darn Merkur Furtur bit me this morning.  Well, maybe I bit myself while holding the Merkur.  My wife asked a question, I flinched, and got to use a styptic pencil that hasn’t seen daylight in years.  Lesson learned!  When shaving with a Futur, don’t talk to your wife no matter how much you love her!  So anyway, other than the blood the shave was awesome.  The soap doesn’t smell like a berry patch nor is it gourmand.  It sure is wonderful though.  Strawberry for sure but the black pepper cuts the sweet and adds depth.  The basil is just awesome.
