What soap/cream did you use today?

Today I decided to try something different.  I have always applied the alum block after a shave, mainly to gauge how well the shave went.  But by doing so, I've noticed the "softness" of the soap dissipates.  This was never a real concern as I always apply witch hazel shortly after in order to avoid whiteheads/pimples from tallow-based soaps.  But Laugar soaps are non-tallow and have such a terrific feeling once the soap is rinsed away, I decided to forgo the alum and witch hazel.  I even decided to leave the splash off today to see how well my face feels with zero after-shave products.  Two hours later and I now know I made the right decision this morning  


BTW, if you're interested in trying Laugar, Pasteur's currently has them on sale.  I'm strongly considering a few backups

How’d you like the scent/cooling if there was any? They have some in stock in my regular shop.

For today’s SOTD Dragonsbeard @ Ethos was kind enough to send me some of his Colonia in his brand new F base to test. This F base can be lathered right out of the jar. No need to scoop and put into a bowl first. All I can say is WOW!  Very easy to load and lather. Performance was outstanding on all dimensions. In my opinion, it’s his best base to date. In addition, he let me know he’s even improved on this formulation for the final release.

Dragonsbeard, I may have missed the post (and if so, I apologize) but will the F-base come in all current scents?,

I would say eventually but at this time I’m focused on some scents I’m out of stock on like Succes, Lavender Supreme and Melange Di Agrume and a bunch of brand scents. Oh and the next V 3 of Dragonsbeard shave soap will be in this new F base as well.

Scent-wise, it's a nice eucalyptus-forward scent that isn't too strong.  Personally, I'm a big fan of the fan of the scent.  Rimfrost and Skogsra (juniper-forward scent) are favorites from her collection.  The Rimfrost isn't a "face-freezer" so may not be for true menth-heads.  But to me, it has the right amount of menthol.  It's enough to let you know it's there but it's not going to make you cry
