Laureato v. (Abbate y La Mantia) lemon laurel
Shave 12 ・ 82% left

Prufrock measured out his life with coffee spoons; I measure mine with shaving soaps. Marking the passage of time this way isn’t boring, but with over a hundred soaps and creams in rotation, it can get unwieldy. It’s time to think about culling the herd. So, from now until the beginning of November I’ll try to work my way through my entire hoard of soaps and creams deciding if each is up to snuff.

First up is Abbate y La Mantia’s Laureato. I have to admit the main attraction here is the scent. It’s a lovely herbal lemon with a side note of saffron. It’s tart and perky and pleasant all year round. The light vegan lather gives just enough protection. I wish it were denser and heavier, especially at this time of year. The finish is nice, but not jaw-dropping. So, Laureato gets to stay – but only by virtue of its exceptionally cheery fragrance.

Having read the posts of this iconic soap/scent over the past couple years, I decided it was time try it for myself.  The scent is fantastic with a dank/earthy vibe.  Definitely reminds me a lot of Mike's Vetiver.  The lather was "meh" and, at the very least, served its purpose

Saturday morning shave with something new as I like to support other soaps makers. So ordered A&E Shave Butter. I wanted to try the Lavender but it was sold out. So I ordered the Unscented Vegan but maybe there was a mess up somewhere cause this definitely has a scent to it that’s very similar to Mikes Barbershop which is fine so I paired them up for today’s shave.

Woke up to a Severe Thunderstorm and Flash Flood Warning. Calmed my shattered nerves with a zen combo of Ethos Lavender Supreme mixed with a small dab of Ethos Peppermint..
