What soap/cream did you use today?

Pulled out the Desert Vetiver after seeing the above posts early this morning. Just a wonderful soap and the 4.3 matches any soap cooked today. Home soap making hobbyists have come a long way but scent longevity and retention is not easy in that format.

There is just something wonderful about a triple milled soap and it’s ability to hold onto its scent long term. 

Started off by pouring hot water over the soap.  I let it sit there for only 3 or 4 seconds before dumping the "bloom" water into the sink.  A 7-second load and that was WAY too much soap!  This lather took about 15 minutes and a ton of water.  I probably did a full dip of the knot 15 to 20 times and I had lathering flying all the bathroom...even ended up with small clump on the top of my head!

The soap is soft anyway. Why did you fill it with water? I even make a brush set from a bowl.

No particular reason other than I like to try different ways to load and lather soaps.  I will have to try the bowl-lathering with MacDuff's although I haven't bowl lathered in several years.

Very nice scent and very comfortable shave. Can't say much about the post as I just finished. I'm sure it'll be great though.

I agree with all of the comments regarding PRÉ de PROVENCE.  In addition, is it's lasting quality.  I have many soaps in my rotation which can limit a soap's use to once a month.  However, I have owned this soap for several years and it appears it will last many more.  It is well worth the money.

I was in a big hurry this morning so I used the St James cream and was able to get a quick one-pass shave completed before running out the door.  As you can see, the lather wasn't great.  But it did provide more than enough cushion and slickness for a WTG pass
