I drove the gear raft thus have limited passenger capacity so for most of the trip it was just she and I and the sound of the swinging oars. I sure enjoy her company and boy can that girl spot Bald Eagles. Gents, it’s hot in Idaho! 103 the day I pushed away from the bank and 106 on the beach at our last nights camp. Didn’t check elsewhere but this is an unprecedented heatwave. The heat continues this week. Thus far no major forest fires but without a lot of rain, they are certainly coming.Welcome back, Lipripper660! I figured you had gone off with the family to some remote spot. Sounds like you had a great time. Got a pic or two of the river? It's been years since I was on the Salmon ... or was it the Snake? At any rate, the whitewater in Idaho is grand!

I can easily use one razor for days, even weeks on end. Soaps, on the other hand, are much tougher. Constant variety in scent is what keeps things fresh (no pun intended) for me.(07-06-2021, 06:14 PM)FaceScraper Wrote: Well, well, well....looky here fellas. GD "Maleki" is officially kicked. Most likely I'll jump around a little before deciding on another victim to sink. Thinking about it this morning, it seems the only pucks that I've killed off have all been Grooming Dept. soaps, save for a puck of Van Der Hagen and a puck of Williams. And of course some samples, but those don't count. I've yet to finish off a tub of Stirling or Wholly Kaw, even though some of them have been hanging around for quite some time.Wow, FaceScraper! An empty tub is a pretty rare sight around here, but you and HoosierShave are showing us that they really do exist. Congratulations. Admirable work in every way. And your Christopher Bradley is taking on such an even patina. Mine was all splotchy and a downright mess. I might just leave it out on my desk untouched for a spell to see if I can get an even color.
The 2nd image is for you Bouki . I didn't do any post processing of the image to show the patina on the Karve. Hopefully it will continue to darken and look like an antique eventually.
The Karve *was* getting an even patina. It's hard to see in the photo, but the one side of the cap has some darker streaks now. That's recent, and I have no idea how they got there. It just adds character, and will eventually morph into something different. The cool thing about metals that patina is you never know how they'll end up, and they're a constant work in progress.

Fougère mania usually hits me about this time of year. I like wallowing around in all those green smells. But things have been so dry and brown around here lately that I’m having a hard time getting into the mood. Doesn’t mean though that I didn’t enjoy today’s shave. Wholly Kaw’s lathers make shaving a carefree pleasure. They pack so much residual slip and slide that I don’t have to worry much, even when I lose track of how many passes I've made.
