Penhaligon's Opus 1870 shaving cream. Excellent lather, the equal of that from any soap.

Agree. We used to hear about Blenheim Bouquet frequently in great light, but rarely a peep nowadays. Deserves a shave real soon.

Mike’s Bay Rum t. (Mike’s Natural Soaps) bay & bergamot
84% left

Yesterday I used the Marco Method to load my boar brush. This juicy approach gobbled up three grams of soap, but it made a mess of the sink, and frankly boar just can’t compete with my synthetic Peregrino when it comes to making a slick, wholesome lather. One thing I did like about the boar, though, was its feral pong. A bit of wildness suits a bay rum. But even that rich combo can get old. Luckily, just when I think I’m getting tired of the bay in this soap, the bergamot steps up to the plate, and it’s a whole new game. What once was rummy becomes tea-like. In fact, there are times when I’m reminded of Barrister & Mann’s Cheshire. Overall, Mike’s is a mildly scented bay rum. Still, it’s full of interesting facets that keep me coming back day after day.
