I had to be up and out the door early this morning, since I worked OT on dayshift today. Quick and easy was on the menu. C.O. Bigelow was called to duty. Not my favorite scent, by a long stretch. However, you can't deny that this cream performs like a champ.

Rose v. (Geo F. Trumper) raspberry rose

Deep pink and creamy, Trumper’s Rose comes out of the tube looking like raspberry sorbet. You may be tempted to lick your fingers. Don't. At first you smell a strong fruity note that leaves you feeling like you’ve spent the morning in the berry patch. That's followed by powder that's as deep as the day is long. And there's some wood at the bottom. What's missing? I don’t pick up the same fresh green and acquatic notes I smelled in DR Harris’s Rose cream and in Soap Commander's Love. Nevertheless, Trumper’s Rose is clearly another old fashioned rose – soft, dusty, and sweet. If you like this sort of thing, you’ll be amazed by both the strength and richness of this fragrance. I have to admit it makes me happy. That's due partly to the scent itself and partly to the memories it brings back of summers spent in my grandparents’ garden picking raspberries and roses. The good memories aren't all that lasts. Both Trumper and DR Harris finish close and lasting. You wake up at three in the morning, run your hand over your beard, and your skin is still so smooth, you begin to despair of ever needing to shave again. I can't say there are many English soaps that I've really taken to. But these English creams are killing it.

Murphy and McNeils Ouroboros is one of the best scents in all shavedom.  Pretty bold statement I know but wow do I like this. Heart notes are rose and jasmine but I get more jasmine than Rose and it all is wrapped around a warm amber with a kiss of vanilla that makes me think of my friend Dominick over at Sir Henrys Sundries.  So very very good, strong, and masculine.

Hello everyone,

As always, fun times seeing everyones choices and living vicariously through the thread and the various shave soaps. Weather in SoCal lately has been all over the place with back and forth hot and cold weather. It hasn't really felt like spring so I have been wanting to use something with more floral. Since I have been daily shaving the last 4 or 5 days, I decided to use Tundra Artica and it was a nice shave. Some rose scent among other notes but this soap and aftershave really are the best my skin has seen. High recommend and would be my #1 in some ways, under rated and has good value in my opinion. Slick lather and cleans the skin up nicely in a shave.

Enjoy your shaves DFS members

Now that was a gas! I can't venture a guess how long it has been since I've bowl lathered. Since I had a little extra time this morning, I figured I'd give it a whirl with some delightful A&E Asian Plum - my bride's favorite scent. What resulted was some incredibly hydrated shave batter. Super slick and protective. The lather was rich and goopy, without being airy. Without a doubt, one of my best efforts as far as making a lather in a bowl. I don't see myself changing from being a face latherer as a norm, but I will have to revisit the bowl a little more often as time permits.
