What soap/cream did you use today?

Rose Cream v. (D.R. Harris & Co. Ltd.) powdery rose

My wife, who loves all things Edwardian, has given me permission to use this cream every day until the end of time. That should give you a hint as to what sort of rose we have here. It’s old fashioned, powdery, and a bit on the softer side. But don’t get me wrong, Rose is also strong. There’s nothing demure about this scent. It will fill your lungs with the fragrance of bushels and bushels of rose petals. Luckily, it smells genuine, and it smells good. And what’s more, it’s not just a rose soliflore. On top there’s a bucket of citrus. I get something like fresh-squeezed grapefruit and bergamot. In the middle there are some green bits that smell like stems and leaves and water. And down under there’s a heap of powder that will make even your Habit Rouge look barren and boring. Yes, this is your granny’s rose, but if you have a taste for this sort of thing, then Rose is well worth tucking into. It’s very nicely done. Will I use it every day? I’d like to, but my wife’s eyeing it, and I wouldn’t be surprised if this tube disappears at some point into milady’s boudoir.
