Kabinett v. (dusy ) simple rose
This is a bright, clean rose. There’s no spice or woods clouding the issue. It’s just rose, and it’s easy to get along with. The lather isn’t remarkable by today’s standards. It turns out a little light and airy, especially if you start out with too much water in the brush. Kabinett is best approached with a dry brush. Add the water drop by drop as the emulsion starts to form and you might get something that’s fairly slick. The finish is dry and soft.
This kicks off a month of shaves with rose scented soaps. I go back and forth on floral fragrances. At times I enjoy them, at other times they seem too sweet. If you can recommend your favorite rose scented soap or cream, I’d really like to hear about it. Thanks.
