What blade are you using?

Lipripper660: The vendor who sold me the razor also included two loose Gem blades. One side is stamped "GEM." The other is stamped "STAINLESS." There's no other marking. I assumed these were the Gem Super Stainless blades made by Personna. Is that what you're using in your bullet tipped Flying Wing?

Gem PTFE is the best I’ve found.  First couple of shaves and the blade “breaks in” for me.  I’ve wondered about putting them on a finishing stone first but then, that would just seem weird.  (I’m gonna do it).

Do it, brah! I think I've got an old finishing stone under the sink. I think I'll try it, too. (I already tried stropping a Gem blade on my forearm. Can't say it made any difference.)

Not that AOS tallow and I needed any help, but still decided to start with a slick layer of the PAA Cube pre-shave soap (the amazing Christmas version with the Fir Tree scent, aka nirvana)... Doug WILL be re-releasing it next year, right Doug



Finish with a splash that is not mentioned frequently... But if you like STRONG menthol, this is for you. Might be stronger than Fine Snakebite splash, for a reference... definitely in the same park.

Osage Rub is a favorite!

SANDALWOOD!  man I like sandalwood.  This morning AOS shaving tallow Sandalwood and although the new formula is pretty stinking good, it’s still not as good as the Valobra version in my book on either performance or scent.  The new has a bit too much sweetness to it for me.  Had I never smelled the old I would love the new but I HAVE smelled the old and it’s just better for me.  Would someone please tell me why it seems the best sandalwood scents get discontinued?  Old school AOS.  Chatillion Lux Santal Auster. Thanks heavens Sir Henry is making tubs of luscious Sandalwood.  And yes that is soap inside the repurposed fly line tin.  

And he Bison probably would have liked to do without the snow.
