An homage to Blenheim Bouquet with its citrus introduction, lavender middle note and black pepper anchor.  This is a wonderful soap for this time of year.

Los Jabones de Joserra Vanitas.  Great soap (as someone pointed out to me just today....there's some Joserra for sale in BST right now in fact.....)

If you haven’t tried Sir Henrys Sundries, for shame!  This company has become my go-to for easy and enjoyable shaves and Black Velvet is most certainly a fav.  Vetiver and lack pepper unapologetically unadorned.  So very good.

First use with this one.

Not really my favorite scent, as I'm not an oud fan (or is that the guaiac wood? I'm not sure what smells like). To my nose, this is an ambery oud. Just not what I'm looking for, but oh well.

But the in-shave performance is flawless. I've had the pleasure of using a lot of great stuff, especially recently... the shave procured with this was as good and carefree as anything.

Post-shave, I cant really comment on bc I made the mistake of using a splash that kinda has a lasting burn (I need to just get rid of it)... Then to go the other way, I used another splash twenty minutes later that is overloaded with menthol, so I can't feel anything at all, haha.

I bit the bullet and used this again.

A few reinforcements and clarifications:

The scent is very well done. Just not my preference/style.

The soap makes mountains of lather.

Seems to have a wide range of water tolerance.

I can now comment on the post-shave... Excellent. My skin is silky and soft, as if I rubbed rose petals all over.

Royal Fougère t. (Asylum Shave Works) Penhaligon’s English Fern

Royal Fougère is full of moss, coumarin, and just a few flighty top notes. I get a good snort of mint, too. I recall it making a big splash when it first landed about four years ago. At that time there weren’t many full-bodied, classic fougères on the market, at least not ones that smelled much like Pen’s English Fern, a fragrance held by many as the model for what a proper fougère should smell like. The soap reappeared in 2019, but we haven’t seen it since, and Bullgoose seems to have turned his attention to creams. I wish I had stocked up. It seemed pricey at the time, but it’s been well worth it.
