As HoosierShave noted a few days back, these Meißner Tremonia soaps smell strong off the puck but their lather is mild. That’s a good thing, because this jar of Strong ’n Scottish is a real reeker. When I need to clear my head, I reach for this. Smoky and boozy and medicinal, it reminds me of some sort of Victorian antiseptic. While interesting, it’s not really something you think would make a good shave soap, but in fact the lather turns warm and mellow. My wife takes a whiff and says she smells the charred wood of the barrel. And the lanolin makes for an extra smooth shave and finish.

The soaps were marked down, some as much as 50%. That's when I swooped in and filled my larder with them. I picked up about a dozen. Nowadays if you want a Meißner Tremonia soap, try Pasteur's or Smallflower or giftsandcare.com. (This last site probably has the freshest stock.)(04-14-2021, 01:06 AM)Bouki Wrote: Strong ’n Scottish v. (Meißner Tremonia)Bouki, where do you purchase this brand - you have an extensive lineup. Meißner Tremonia makes vegan soaps. Their lathers start out fluffier than your average tallow lather, and many of the scents smell like they've come out of an old time apothecary. So, these might not be to everyone's taste. But I like them very much, especially in the warmer weather when a full-on tallow-n-megabutter soap is just too much.
