Seaforth! Heather t. (Spearhead) musty fougère

I was looking for an old style shave today, something to go with my 1940s Tech razor. Seaforth! Heather seemed to fit the bill. It’s not the original Seaforth! soap from the 40s, but it borrows some of the vibe from that decade. Heather is a rich fougère, something you could imagine black-n-white Cary Grant slapping across his face. There’s also something sort of mothbally about it that gives it a patina of age. The tallow lather is good, although not remarkable in any way. I keep it mostly for the scent. Lathering this soap is sort of like finding an old suitcase full of letters under your grandfather’s bed. You open it up and it takes you back eighty years.

Salmon River? Looks familiar from a whitewater trip a while back.

Good eye!  This is the main Salmon right below the confluence mod the Yankee Fork.  We call this section “Piece of Cake” which at really high water is a misnomer.  You can put in at the Yankee Fk and float to Torreys or slide further up and put in at Mormon Bend or Basin Creek if the water is high enough.

Thanks Tommy! Before I got into this hobby, floral scents didn't appeal to me whatsoever. Especially rose. For whatever reason, that's all changed and I love many floral scented products.

No doubt about being a great soap, Dan! What do you mean by "vintage version"? As far as I know, the base I have is the most current he makes for this scent. One thing I don't know about WK soaps, some are labelled "Special Edition". Do you - or anyone else - know what makes them "Special Edition'? I think the sample I tried awhile back of Chypre Rose Concerto was labelled as such, and I don't believe the base ingredients differ from the full sized tub.
