I don’t keep track of how many shaves I get out of a tub or puck but given the persistence of the little dab of soap in the bottom of this tub indicates I must have gotten 2.34 million shaves out of it.  Wow this refuses to die.

And this is where I hung out yesterday.

For purity on a theme, Meißner Tremonia’s Natural Bay Rum still takes the cake. They don’t prettify this classic scent with tea, ginger, vanilla, lime, etc., etc. It’s just bay and rum with a light dusting of clove to accentuate the bay. And it’s a bit rough, as it should be.

What wasn’t rough was my Gillette fat handle wartime Tech. This was my first shave with one of these legendary razors. It was remarkable. Granted, I had a great soap and thirty hours of growth to work with, but even under less than favorable conditions, I imagine this antique razor would still give me as close and comfortable a shave as any of my newer and far pricier razors. I have to admit, though, that I was very surprised by just how small it is. Fully assembled, the whole thing fits comfortably in the palm of my small hand. And the ‘fat’ handle is no wider than any of my other handles. Nevertheless, this quick and nimble razor easily earns honors for shave of the week.

Salmon River? Looks familiar from a whitewater trip a while back.

That does look like a MONSTER container. As long as it's a good soap, consider it a blessing.

Same goes with that 'hang out'. So peaceful and beautiful looking. Another blessed day.

Beer for the main course and wine for dessert...a meal I likely would have enjoyed 20 years ago Smile
HoosierShave: was there a rubber O-ring under the puck? If so, you may want to pull it out, especially if you load straight from the jar. I found, much to my chagrin, that when I load from the Meißner Tremonia jar, the O-ring catches water from my brush and makes a swampy mess of the bottom of the puck. I chucked the O-rings under all my Meißner Tremonia soaps and then pressed the cake deep into the jar, pushing it up to the edges so that water wouldn't seep past the sides. (Looks like that lather is two swirls away from turning into butter!)

There is a rubber O-ring...honestly, I thought it was a cool idea and would keep the puck in place if you were to load from the jar.  Thankfully, I took the puck out and held it while I loaded.  I will definitely remove the ring if I end up pressing the puck into the jar.  Never would have given it a second thought, so I do thank you!  This is not a scent I want ruined  Big Grin

Wonderful scent for a spring morning. Or just about any morning, for that matter.
