French Vetiver v. (Cyril Salter) smoky vetiver

Whenever I get a tight shave with the Feather AS-DS razor, I know the lather has to be something special. The Feather is a very mild razor. A heavy tallow lather simply swallows the blade. But a light vegetal lather isn’t always enough to protect my skin from the very sharp edge of the Feather blade. This Cyril Salter cream seems to have found the sweet spot between the two. It makes a slick, protective lather that suits the AS-D2 perfectly. I come away with a close, clean shave and happy skin. And of course, French Vetiver smells reeking wonderful.

I was asked to try out a couple soap formulas for a project that someone is starting (not sure he wants me to elaborate, so I will leave it there for now), so I used one yesterday and the other one today.

The clear winner for me was the one yesterday with the same/similar base as the current Floris soaps.

Been quite warm recently, so gotta plan your hours right on the slopes to get the sweet spot (not too firm, not too mushy).

The last of MW Windjammer!  It's a great scent and even better soap base, but I don't see a replacement for this one showing up in the den anytime soon.
