So far I've moved them to sample containers and tried one shave with the Colonia. Very good stuff.
I used the Colonia last night...
I get mostly lemon, with a subtle backdrop of some other stuff. My nose isnt nearly as sophisticated as Bouki's. The backdrop is cologne-esque, but mild enough it shouldn't give me a problem. Got maybe 2 more shaves from this, so we'll see. It's definitely a slick soap, and the post shave feel seems elite. I use post shave balm, so it's time 'alone' on the face is very limited.
I haven't tried the Agrumes yet, but the scent off the sample is almost non-existent. I'll see if something comes of it after I lather it. I believe Frank includes additional oil to kick the scent up a notch, so don't let the report of a light scents deter you.
So far, great stuff Dragonsbeard .
Odd the Agrumes is so light. It is off the charts off the tub. Citrus does dissipate quick and Frank does include an additional oil. Sorry about that Paul.
As he includes the oil, it would absolutely be no issue typically.. and...
I'm pretty sure the scent will jump up when it's lathered. That's just the oils on the surface. There gonna be lots o' goodness trapped in there that's not exposed yet.
I'm thinking I'll try the Argumes tomorrow. I'll report back.

After trying out some new-to-me soaps lately, I decided I wanted something that hadn't been used in awhile. Sitting on the top row waaaayyyyyy in the back was MW Field of Dreams. For a bright sunshiny 70 degree day, a good clean cut grass scent just felt right for an end of day shave. No pic tonight because I can't get the image to load. The computer/tech issues I've had a work for the past six months are now leaking into my fun time
Maya t. (Tallow + Steel) the Yucatan
It’s a challenge figuring out which of the notes will dominate. Lime and orange open the door and then walk you through the house. Along the way you meet allspice and cardamom. They tag along and then slip away only to reappear unexpectedly. Tobacco is always at your side. It’s not sweet cigarette or pipe tobacco. Rather it’s a deep, rich cigar-like leaf. Cocoa and coffee bring out its earthy tones. Sounds like a mishmash, doesn’t it? But of all the fragrances I’ve tried from Tallow+Steel, this is the one that works. All the discordant notes come together to create a whole olfactory image. What do I see? It’s there on the label: Mayan ruins in the moonlight.
