As an old farm kid I love the scent of growing things. In fact one of my favorite smells is irrigation water hitting dry earth. So good. That smell will always be the smell of life. With that in mind you know I’m going to be a sucker for lavender scents and the ones I like best are those that offer more than a lavender flower. Cyril Salter does that for me. It’s undoubtedly lavender, but rather than just the bud, they give me the leaves and stems too. First ingredient is Sodium Tallowate and my experience in the past has been that sodium-anything is a bad experience of thin and dissipating lather. Of late however, someone figured out a recipe to make a hard puck but that will lather easily and stay lathered through the shave. This soap performs! It also appears to be similar enough to guess that the DR Harris reformulation is made by the same maker. Reports are that new formula works just fine too.
