What soap/cream did you use today?

Original v. (Martin de Candre) lavender rosemary

March was going to be set aside for Meißner Tremonia, but I just might have to switch it to Martin de Candre instead. This little 50g scrap of Original is tenacious stuff. I’ve been chipping away at it for over a year, and still it lingers. It’s time to put the hammer down and plow through what’s left. 3017 or bust.

Rob, how did you like this soap? I was thinking about buying it, but something stopped me.

Mikes Natural Vetiver.  It’s good!  My favorite Vetiver? Naw, that goes to Salters French Vetiver but as variable as different vetivers are, this one is a real representation of the nutty side of vetiver.  In fact this one reminds me a bit of the peanuts in Cracker Jack. (That’s a good thing).  But even better for my friend Gigi who escaped the fall of Saigon.  Her dad was a helicopter and officer in the South Vietnamese army and the story she tells about their escape is harrowing.  She mentioned that the US sailors gave the children an apple and a box of Cracker Jack.  They knew what an apple was but Cracker Jack was new to them and she says to her it is the smell of safety and freedom.  So in honor of Gigi, this is my freedom soap.

Good luck Bouki!  It isn't easy sticking to one soap for more than two or three shaves.  Here's hoping you only have a very small amount left
