Quick note to say of all the areas on DFS, I’ve missed you guys the most! Hope all of You and your Families are well and had a brilliant Holiday Season!
I did get a few new ones as holiday gifts so here goes:

PARAGON / Sunlit Forest
GORGEOUS lather...hands down.  Slick, really nice protection layer, superb PHANTOM lather.  I truly didn’t have to re-apply for a second pass, but I did. She’s a thirsty one too, the colour is peculiar, it’s like a very dull Opal. A firmer Croap in consistency.  SCENT is a home run for me...it’s supposed to be Blood Orange, Cedar, Tea Tree, Lavender...I get Citrusy Lemon and Leather; end of story.  I LOVE the scent, it’s pretty sassy when you open the container.  The Lemon hits you like a brick, you back it off your nose, bring it back up and that new Leather smell is right there along with the Lemon.  Could that be the Cedar and Tea Tree blending to make that leathery scent? For “Me” zero lavender, and that’s ok, I like this the way it is! Impaired it with a Pineapple Splash from the Cock Soap Group, lol, the powder Blue one with the Rooster in an airplane on the label

Full Rose - I am  a bona fide rose aficionado. This is a pretty sophisticated scent. A lot of green-resinous goodness and incense in this beast.  Plays well with the rose classic Federic Malle's Portrait of a Lady. BTW boys, that scent is not a feminine rose  - it is a stout incense lased bombshell.  [Image: 2602e81b8df8c8914c42b9db1600d932.jpg]

That is a beautiful brush, all of my brushes are fan shape.  Who made it?
Yes sir - Chiseled Hound [previously known as That Darn Rob]. He has 'Fanchurian' knots available on his site. Man, they are soft and lather well. Great flow thru!

Dan, this puck also runs well with your favorite Rose based EDT that you were kind enough to bounce my way!

Mystic Water: Linden

I believe this is a fairly new scent release from MW [or i have been asleep to at the wheel]. I have planted [10 years ago] a Basswood or Linden tree, as they live 250+ years and can get huge. They produce a lovely yellow blossum and the bees are omnipresent in the late spring. Pretty fragrant bloom! This is nice and fresh - a clean floral . Another all-arounder from MW. I especially like rolling with MW in the winter per her post [glorious tallow and lanolin]!

Churchilllafemme just did a nice review of the Linden fragrance - check it out!

Clay Face
Honolulu, Hawaii
Fjellheim v. (Fitjar Islands) juniper wind

Fjellheim offers a mild, fresh, coniferous scent that all but disappears when it’s made into lather. Pity, because the puck smells quite nice. It’s not really bold enough to convince you that you’re in the mountains. It’s more like you’re catching a cool breeze blowing down off the slopes. One moment it’s there, the next it’s gone.

I had to use Mike's Pine & Cedarwood again because I already had planned to (the last shave was memorably great and needed to be repeated with haste) and now we got some snow *, so it seems fitting to get some evergreen going **.

* Thank you, btw
** Not that I ever need to be pushed to use evergreen scents, it's my preferred scent type (and of course 'fougere' overlaps this green/woodsy style... I'm not sure if one is the subset of the other, or vice versa.)

I decided to finish it off with a different scent today, in Barrister's Reserve Cool... the best in its class, IMO.
