Sometimes presentation is everything.  My Dad, who never seemed to care what anyone thought, and in fact stated vocally, “I will not be responsible for anything others may think”, always drove a Lincoln Town Car (when he wasn’t on the ranch in a pickup truck).  I asked why the Lincoln, because it didn’t fit his rough and tumble lifestyle.  He said, “I only get to make a first impression once.  When I drive up that mans lane I want him to know that someone important is coming to meet with him”.  I don’t know if a Lincoln is the only way to do that but I do know my Dad died knowing all the people in the world it seemed.  I do however subscribe to his first impressions mantra and when I meet a gentleman I have combed hair, a fresh shave, and proper business attire.  It seems to work.  So when I see Floris Elite in its lovely wooden bowl on the counter I know it’s there for business.  The presentation and branding are impeccable.  Sort of leads one to expect something right is about to happen.  And the first impression can lend credence to claims of superiority.  As you may know, Floris lost their way a while back and started making substandard soaps, at least for shaving.  They amended their ways and the new stuff works just fine.  Is it best-in-class?  Nope.  I like several makers better, but it is more than serviceable and to a guy that likes triple milled bars this is a popping fine soap.  The scent is classic British understatement and I love it.  The shave is close and protective.  The finish a bit dry.  But oh that presentation!
