I was just gonna say that I need to pull this out soon, but then realized I don't think I have ever bought it because I have had so many samples of it.

I love the scent though there have been instances I've gotten tired of it (it's full/strong and has staying power), but always love again...

Great performance, obviously.

It reminds me a bit of my Stirling Spice but where that one kind of opens up when lathered this one does kind of stay in the same range so yes kind of dense hard hitter. I tend to prefer soap scents that are a little more fleeting and go heavy with a splash afterwards but I do love this one. I never quite experience the staying power thing that is often mentioned I guess it's possibly the feedback from the wives or possibly you guys are referring to the splashes but for me once I rinse off the scent is all but gone. I don't have the matching splash here might need to pick it up. I don't care for witch hazel in AS though so I was maybe thinking the PAA version instead but I'm wondering if that one might veer a little sweeter as is sometimes the case with that artisan.

This morning after my second pass and lathering up for a third my bride poked her head in to mention something and said, “why does it smell like smoke in here”? I had a face-full of DR Harris Marlborough soap and all I was smelling was cedar wood, but after her statement I too started to sense the vibe of a campfire.  Never experienced that with this soap before and who knows, might never experience it again.  After all the girl has been talking me into things for 33 years now.  I sure do like Harris soaps though.  I hear guys report they are not slick enough but I’ve always found them to be very slick and the kind of slick that will rinse off readily.  The best part of Harris though is the scents.  So good.  So sublime.

Tried the C&F Old Goat for the first time today.  Used a generous amount to be sure the Polo 10 was properly loaded.  Wonderful lather. Really liked the scent and the soap had great slickness and cushion too.  I left a thin/diluted layer on after my shave and let it dry before applying the Ethos.  Once it dried, the thin layer of soap behaved just like a nice, and nicely scented, post-shave balm.  Good stuff.

RR "Unlabeled" soap
The same formula as the SMdF, Dead Sea, and XXX Fresco.... minus the lanolin and menthol... and with white kaolin clay instead.
I know the Lanolin Old Guard will dispute, but there NO difference to me. If anything, this version makes my skin softer.
