Boy oh boy today was fun. I like lavender scents. I mean I really like them but I already have some great, straight lavenders and looking at Sir Henrys Purple which is another awesome lavender in an awesome base but on a deal I worked came a new tub of Declarations Champs de Lavande and as I like Declaration I was mildly excited to get it here. Imagine my surprise when I cracked the lid and found a new lovely scent! It’s lavender for sure but oh so much more. Two types of lavender plus ylang ylang, rosemary, eucalyptus, bergamot, black pepper, another Chatillon Lux home run I’d say. So very good, this one is in the Sir Henrys and AOS Sandalwood, DG Darkfall, L,Occitaine Cade crowd. Such an amazingly great scent and the eucalyptus opens up full bore when the lathering starts. My oh my oh my. Great scent.
Seaforth! Heather t. (Spearhead Shaving Company) fantastic fougère
Wow. Superlatives escape me. If you’re even the slightest bit interested in fougères, you may want to sample Seaforth! Heather. It smells very, very good. I get a dewey, slightly dirty fougère with lots of heather tucked in. And there’s a touch of anise floating around in there, too. Shawn Maher at Chatillon Lux came up with the fragrance. Like most of his creations, Heather is complex and intriguing, and it held my interest the whole way through the shave. One of the best fougères I’ve ever come across in a shave soap.
