Sometimes it’s nice to take a trip to the Cooper Tire factory so MdC Vetiver this morning.  Love that vetiver scent and really like the “tire factory” scent that tags along.  Weird?  I should say so.  What is it?  Perhaps they hot batch their soap on a tire fire.  That would really make their breakfast croissant taste funny.  Can’t imagine I would like that smell anywhere else except with smoky vetiver.  So although MdC Vetyver is a winner in my book, there are just too many reports of the rubber scent for me to want another of their soaps.  (Why yes!  I do like the brush!)

Original v. (Martin de Candre) mint, lavender, rosemary

How such a simple soap can leave my skin feeling so good always astonishes me. There were points during the dry season down here when Martin de Candre soaps seemed to wither my skin. But now that the rains are back, this soap gives me nothing but close comfort. The scent too goes with this season. Last weekend my wife put out her winter garden: thyme, rosemary, mint, and lavender. It’s right under the window by the sink, so it fills the room with sweet herby notes as I shave. Original’s stout fragrance fits right in. Loaded with rosemary, it really wakes up the sniffer.
