I might need to look into this one. I gravitate towards sweeter, less cologne scents.

That said, comes Tax time, I never get the sweet feeling. This is obviously a cruel joke. Lol.

Quite good/easy and I'm sure will get better, as I kinda rushed tonight. No lather issues.
Really like the scent.

I do have a little burning sensation on my chin/upper neck, and I'm not sure if that is from the soap or from this vintage ADP which I maybe shouldn't have used as an AS... I assume the latter, but just making note.[Image: 1944d13042423df419f7f13fac741f68.jpg]

Face still burning/prickly sensation. Sad
Is there lanolin in Mitchell’s?  Stinks when a soap goes Rasputin on you.

Crazy Sandalwood v. (Tcheon Fung Sing) spicy sandalwood

Like AoS Sandalwood or Fine Santal Absolut? Then you might get a kick out of this Crazy Sandalwood, too. It’s scented with the same sort of Australian spicy sandal but with the added boost of some clove (I think) and something else that smells like cocoa nibs. Rich? Yup. In fact, the labels calls it ‘Forte’, strong. Its well worth a few swirls. Only problem is, it doesn’t appear to be made any more. This tub of mine, which just came in the mail, seems to have been sitting on a shelf for quite some time. The label says I should be getting 150 grams of soap, but my scale says the tub and soap together weigh only 135 grams. Inside, the soap is hard and stiff – nothing resembling a cream. It’s dried up a lot, but it still smells strong, and it still makes an excellent lather. So no troubles, no worries. (But one thing to keep in mind: Crazy Sandalwood is enriched with almond oil, so if you’re sensitive to that, you may want to give it a second thought.)

Yes, it is the original lanolin soap.
But I've used a bunch of others with lanolin this year without issue.

I notice it has Sodium Silicate, which I have to wonder why this ingredient has gone under the radar???

How is it that the most basic formula is still the best?
And... Why do I use anything else?
Well, there is an answer to the latter question, just for variety...but if I really just wanted to use the best for every shave, this is it...

Fendrihan's Charcoal Shaving Cream

It looks weird and the scent is strange, but not offensive.
  • "A dynamic fragrance that combines cedarwood, sandalwood, musk and vanilla. "
The ingredients list includes  "... Activated Charcoal Powder, ... Parfum (Fragrance), ...". I would've thought that the charcoal would cancel out the fragrance.
The lather comes out a light grey, and it performs about the same as many TOBS creams.
I do prefer their "Aloe Water" version of that base.
