RazoRock's For Chicago

One of the wonderful "RazoRock Super Tallow Formula" soaps.
I find that the scent seems vaguely "nutty". It reminds me a bit of Saponificio Varesino's Stella Alpina.
RazoRock's description goes: "The best way to describe For Chicago's scent is masculine floral. It has a clean mandarin/citrus top note with some 'white floral' (jasmine/gardenia) and amber mid notes. There is a small amount of wood, leather, and powderiness to the dry down."
Sure, whatev.
It's pleasant, and a change from many of my other soaps.

That's way more than in my inventory. I'm down to just a ring of croap, but the scent is still mostly there. Maybe it's because I kept it in it's original plastic tub with the screw-on cap.
When was that C&E scent discontinued? I keep thinking it was something like 2005.

Yes, I believe it was around 2005-2008. I think yours probably was the cream, which came in the plastic tub. Mine is the soap in the wooden bowl in which it was sold. My experience has been that soaps lose their fragrance faster than the creams do, perhaps because of tight-fitting lids on the plastic and glass jars.

Rose v. (Martin de Candre) rose

Two blasts of Habit Rouge turned this so-so rose scent into a cornucopia of olfactory delights: lemon, incense, rose, carnation, leather, sandal, cinnamon … it’s all here. For years I didn’t know what to do with my jug of Habit Rouge. It was too powdery to wear in public. But now I’ve found its mate: Martin de Candre Rose soaks up the powdery bits and works them into an entirely satisfactory scent. The rubbery note disappears, and I’m left with a rich and dandy lather that smells a little old fashioned. I feel like Sherlock Holmes at the hammam all pink and sweet smelling.

Yes, my Sienna was the cream.
Although, what's left is now more of a croap, maybe a wee bit more solid than Proraso.
