What soap/cream did you use today?

A leisurely 3-pass shave has taken a back seat to a down and dirty two pass speeder shave.  Darned new knee makes it hard to just stand and focus because of pain.  Yeah, I know.  I’m a sissy.  At any rate, I’m not choosing soaps that take some work to lather but focus instead on known quick performers.  Broke that rule a bit today with DG B-cubed.  I just wanted to get a snooty up of this BlackBerry Blossom Bay that I’ve heard so much about and gents, it is as nice as they reported.

XPEC Unscented shaving cream (v.1) with a few drops of Perry Ellis Portfolio Elite

Quartet t. (Sir Henry’s Shave Soap) spiced amber

If you like spice, amber, garden herbs, and a whiff of citrus, then this one is for you. Quartet is a strongly scented barbershop fragrance that is wonderfully rich and elegant, and a little nostalgic, too. Sweet and old fashioned, it will leave you smelling like Uncle Jack did at Thanksgiving dinner back in 1955. In other words, it’s a great scent for flannel shirt weather. For a long time Barrister & Mann’s Seville was my benchmark for barbershop soaps, but that may be changing now that I’ve tried Quartet.
