Mirto di Sardegna v. (Saponificio Varesino) lime, lavender, vetiver

I love the sappy smell of fresh myrtle. It's green but not very sticky, like herbs. Pruning myrtle is a treat for your nose. Do you get a lot of that in this soap? We'll, not a lot. The myrtle in this soap is there mostly for toning and purifying the skin. It's not prominent in the scent, which is mostly lime and vetiver with a dash of lavender holding them together. Mirto di Sardegna smells nice, but couldn't I go for a bigger twist of myrtle juice in the mix.

andrewjs18: I was reading the Aeneid the other day when I came across your tagline ("Tu ne cede malis...") in book 6. You gotta love DFS. It's not just about shaving, it's a whole liberal education!

Sticking with the Black Tie/Sir Henrys Sundries theme I chose “An Affair” which had a name change to “Black Tie Affair” which I think fits the scent better.  The scent is citrus and vanilla on top of wood and it is very nice indeed.  Same perfect performance as the other offerings.  So slick.  Rinses away easily.  This has a bit of a creamsicle vibe to it without falling into juvenile.  It conjures up feelings of peace and carefree days of childhood yet bridges The chasm between child and man perfectly.  This is not a scent that is fun and quirky like Saturday Morning (froot loops) or the one that smells like Fruit Striped Gum.  It only hints of those sorts of memories.  This scent would fit very well at a Black Tie Affair.  So nice.
