My first time using a D.R. Harris soap and it's a winner.  So many of the other major British shaving soap makers have gone downhill but not D.R. Harris.

MdC Vetiver
My face couldn't be more moisturised and comfortable.
God is it annoying to see posts stating the "dry" feeling from MdC.

French Vetiver v. (Cyril Salter) raw vetiver

The first blast of this French Vetiver is really something – ashes, coffee grounds, roasted beets, day-old grass clippings, even a drop of alcohol. It's rich and powerful, but surprisingly it doesn't last that long. Rinse away the lather and you pretty much rinse away the scent. This leaves plenty of room for a favorite aftershave or cologne. You might want to give Heeley's Vetiver Veritas a shot. Like French Vetiver, it's a very simple scent, just straight vetiver, but with a drop of mint on top to keep it clean.

Thanks to Lipripper660 for reminding me just how good a fresh jug of French Vetiver can be. This is dark, bitter, smoky oh-so-incredible vetiver, undiluted and coming at you full force. Thing is, though, it loses its umph fairly quickly. So I'll be dipping into this tub frequently in the next couple of months to enjoy that walloping good blast of rootitude before it goes mellow on me.

Rootitude!  That says it.
