Caties Glacé Herbe is vetiver and menthol.  Like Vegemite this scent is an acquired taste but I like it just fine.

Vetiver Magnifique t. (Ariana & Evans) wet lard

"Ariana & Evans is a brand started by Peter Charkalis, who is passionate about the universe of perfumes and the incredible sensory power of smell." That sounds inviting! I ordered a tub of his Vetiver Magnifique, which Peter says is "one of the most magnificent scents you will ever have the pleasure of smelling." Now if you're going to talk in superlatives, you really need to follow through. Unfortunately, when I opened the lid of my new jar of soap, what I smelled was lard, very fatty and musty. In fact this 'magnificent' vetiver reminded me of the winter coat closet at grandpa's house: damp wool and dirty shoes. In other words, it smelled like straight soap base. I figured A&E forgot to add the fragrance oil to this batch. A test lather only confirmed that the scent was slight at best. So I added some of my own: 20 drops of some particularly fine vetiver oil, a milliliter of Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver, two milliliters of Lubin's Le Vetiver, and finally a milliliter of Guerlain's classic Vetiver. Another lather and at last I smelled something, barely. The soap base seems to soak up the oils and perfumes, and it doesn't release them well. I have to admit the lather itself is marvelous. It's as thick and shiny and dense as you could hope for. But the scent, if there was any to begin with, was a deep disappointment.

Just a suggestion. Putting in a alcohol based cologne isn’t going to really work to correct the problem your having with the scent. My suggestion would be to call Peter and tell him your experience with the scent and I’m sure he will make good on it or maybe he could send you some of the fragrance oil in a dropper bottle so you can kick up the scent but I’d definitely get in touch with him.
