After smelling Mikes Pine and Cedar yesterday as the puck dried, I had to go back to it today. This soap has always been about cedar before but today, and yesterday it hit me that the pine was not needles and resin but the WOOD. Totally get it now. That lumber yard scent is there and strong. And pinewood really shined.

This is the only one I've tried of there scented offerings but I haven't had that many goes at it. I will try and post some comments on this one and others in the future as I find it helpful when you and others make the effort.. I recall you Bouki posting a few of these at some point last year so I decided to pick it up when Maggard's had a sale. I think I might have a slight preference for the paste over the hard soap and a little goes a long way at least for me. I'd like to have a go at a few of the other more bolder scents but this one might possibly have more mass appeal. It's some sort of sea salt component with sage, camphor and Amyris oils. Hard to say I get a maybe little whiff of seaweed but unfortunately It's been a log time since I've been seaside. It's a herbal scent to me which I seem to gravitate more to these days.

This was one of my first artisan soaps/scents. Love leaving the lid off for 24 hours on this one and smelling that sawdust scent when I walk into the bathroom!

The most wonderful black pepper scent in wet-shaving
Seriously though, I tried hard today to pick up the vetiver and I just dont get it. I even used PAA Vetiver Planet AS to compare with BV...and no comparison. It's certainly weird how two noses will pick up different scents.
