I am somewhat confused, the soap was discontinued (luckily I have several refills) is this a new product?

No, just mislabeled by yours truly. It's the soap.

It's not nice to fool an old man.

This the fabled Mango creme?  Have a tub of that.  Not great in postshave but slick as they come

The thing I like most about Barrister & Mann's soaps is that they don't smell like soap. Take a sniff of some other soap cooker's products, and you can't miss the oily scent of the tallow, lanolin, and Shea butter, but Barrister & Mann has figured out how to turn their base into an olfactory white canvas upon which Will works his fragrance genius. Many bay rums open the door with a bright note of citrus, and this Bay Rum is no different. My first whiff picks up a generous helping of sweet orange, a bright versatile note that balances the deep resinous umph of the benzoin.

That’s not an answer to a question.  All the gent accomplished was to look like a punk.  I own most of the brands he touted but I also own many Stirling and don’t see his point.  Might I suggest when a post asks your opinion on scent, you leave your opinion on the soap base rattling around in your head and not on the page.  Decorum seems to be a lost skill these days.  In deference to Stirling fantastic products I chose LIME.  good old dependable Stirling.

Great post - and btw: Stirling is great stuff. Can compete with any pucks out there.... Great options and affordable with uncompromising customer service

Clay Face

Neroli & Black Pepper t. (Asylum Shave Works) honied orange blossom

Sniff this puck and you'd have every right to think this fragrance is never going to work. The black pepper is too strong, the neroli too sweet. But whip up a lather and mash it around your face for a while, and something remarkable happens. As the pepper fades and the neroli mellows, a soft, sweet, rich note of honey wells up filling the gap between flower and the spice. The three scents take turns coming to the front and then gracefully stepping back. It's like an olfactory minuet for three. Very cool.
