Of the “rain on dirt” scented soaps I have tried, Chiseled Face Summer Storm is the most true-to-life. The experience starts for me the moment I unscrew the cap. I am instantly transported to a dusty road on the end rows of a potato field. Black clouds have been building all afternoon and I can see streamers of rain hanging below the clouds. suddenly the temperature drops 10 degrees and the first drop smacks me on my hat brim. Soon more drops splat on the dust and I that moment before the heavens open to a good soaking rain, and the dust is still dry, I get the sharp note of ozone. Wetness, grassiness, petrichor. The scent is so real I can feel it on my tongue.
