Zingari Explorer, I love the more subdued scent compared a lot of modern soaps.

Havane v. (Le Père Lucien) tobacco, rum, wood

This sweet fragrance isn't nearly as complex as the aroma of real rum, tobacco, and wood, but it's a nod in that direction, and it's not a bad prelude to a drop or two of 1740 (Histoire de Parfums). The lather was nice, too. It turned out thick and fine grained. But when the scraping was done, I felt rubbed and raw. I may be coming close to the end of my patience with Le Père Lucien.

Who doesn’t like a good green Chypre?  And you know what’s better than a good Chypre?  A great one!  My brother brought this soap back from West Coast Shaving and I fell in love with this scent.  So bright but so deep all at the same time.  I don’t know who made it for WCS but I imagine it was Vida at Oleo.  Is it the best base I’ve used? No, but it is certainly very very nice.  Post is very good indeed.  And that scent!  Had to follow it up with one of my favorite Chypre, Ralph Lauren Polo vintage.  Man that juice is the bomb.
