Some scents that most people dislike are very appealing to others. For example many find the smell of a new boar brush off putting but I absolutely relish a new boar. Probably kid memories of favorite hogs on the place. Few love the scent of a skunk but a faint whiff on the morning breeze to me makes for an interesting start of the day. I have a daughter-in-law who loves the scent of kids morning breath. Yuck! Chiseled Face Tar soap is like that for me. Not a very approachable scent but it holds a lot of memories form me. The smell of the stovepipe in the tent at the head of Mill Canyon. Or the quick whiff of a spring breeze through the flue at the cabin. Building fence with old railroad ties. Black Sticky Gum Salve my grandma used to make to treat cuts and infections. Love the scent of tar. I wish this one was a bit bolder but I’m not complaining.
