Opuntia v. (Saponificio Varesino) pineapple, jasmine, vetiver
A big slug of pineapple makes this soap smell especially nice on a wet, muggy afternoon in the tropics. We won't being going out for a Dole Whips soon, so this soap will have to conjure up the cool memories. Opuntia is an another Aventus clone. We've all cast for one of these from time to time. We hope to land a trophy, but too often we find we've just snagged another fingerling. If you're like me, you've released most of these back into the wild. But I've set my hook into Opuntia. Credit goes to its lather, which comes together just as easily as Martin de Candre. It's just as frugal, too. Twenty-five swirls yield three, maybe four, passes. And that smell ... it's a zinger. I drag myself away from it for a few minutes, but it just keeps tugging me back.

If you like Aqua Velva, and I do, then Crown King Sacre Blu is for you. The tub I own is several years old but still smells and performs marvelously. It may not be as good as his newer CK6 formula but how good does “good” have to be? The lather is a higher structure like Tabac. Face feel is very pleasant (hug soap). Finish is very nice indeed with no real need for a balm.
