What soap/cream did you use today?

I don't know exactly what it is about DR Harris soaps that I like so such.  Maybe it's nostalgia.  Harris has been making luxury toiletries for just about forever.  Maybe it's the scents which are so sublimely elegant.  Oh boy I do love the scents.  At any rate, they wouldn't be worth a hoot if they didn't perform and I sure find their performance to be top notch for me.  Today I was working off a three year old puck of Marlborough and I still get that nice cedar-forward scent.  If I could get Harris to whip me out a few pucks of Trumpers Eucris I would be a happy man.  So gents, how does Harris work for you?

Italian Barbershop v. (Le Père Lucien) orange, cinnamon

A jar of Le Père Lucien sort of seizes up if you don't use it regularly. You rub your brush all over the surface of the soap, but it doesn't pick up much, and you're left with a disappointing thin lather. To cure this malady, it helps to scoop all the soap out of the jar and give it a good kneading. Using the cold heel of my palm, I mashed my glob of Italian Barbershop all across a slab of marble I once used for making pastry dough. Then I scraped up the soap with a bread spatula, gave it a few more kneads, and repacked it. The results were excellent. The soap now loads and lathers just like it did a year ago when I bought it.

Wait!  You said pastry dough.   Slow down there and talk very clearly......
