I've been using Catie's Un Jour Gris for the last week or so. It may not be the first choice of many these days but it seems to work for me. It may be a little quirky many French soaps are but it's plenty slick enough and it washes off easy. I like supporting Chris and while some of his scents might lean a little too fruity for me I found a few that I like. This one is a nice pick me up on a snowy day like today. Have a good weekend all.
Mikes Natural Soap keeps me grounded. What I mean by that is Mikes was, and still is, a top performing soap. While others chase the dragon, Mikes quietly goes about shaving gents and showing up in many SOTD photos. No goats milk. No tussah silk. No exotic fats and oils that I am aware of. What I am aware of though is the superb performance I get from all Mikes offerings. This one is Lime in a very attractive, hand labeled, repurposed tub. It's about half gone and will be replaced when it's done. Lime like lime ought to be. NAKED, with no other scents to muddy up what it is. Lime was the logical choice this morning as I am a bit jaded from the 37inches of snow my grass has seen since January 1. I needed a little summer in my day.

Yeah people have there preferences and what works for them. A lot of choices out there as well I know I for one had never heard of Black Tie until you mentioned them in this thread. I look forward to trying them at some point. I usually just tend to buy what's available to me locally.
Rose v. (Martin de Candre) dry rose
Rose is one of the most versatile notes in the perfumer's palate. It goes well with just about anything: smoky woods, warm spices, tart citrus, or fresh greens. It also goes well with any weather, no matter if it's a rainy spring morning, a blistering hot summer afternoon, or a blahsome mid-winter evening. So while most other Martin de Candre fragrances – fougère, vetiver, citrus, and the herby original – are well suited for spring and summer, this Rose is a year rounder. I've loved using it this stormy week, and I'm looking forward to making its better acquaintance throughout the year. This was a new jar, its dense soap overflowing the rim and well packed down. After 5 superabundant lathers there's not even a dimple. I think it could easily give me another 495 perfect shaves. Marvelous stuff.
