Rose v. (Martin de Candre) dry rose
The less I load, the better the finish. Martin de Candre makes a very concentrated soap. I suspect when I loaded my brush to the hilt, I was probably making my lather too rich, one that dried out the skin. A moderate load of twenty swirls makes enough luscious lather for three passes and still leaves my hide feeling comfortable right after the shave and feeling marvelous throughout the rest of the day. I thought of calling this jar of Rose my soap of the week, but it just might become my soap of the month.
