Cèdre-Orange v. (Le Père Lucien) cedar & orange

This version of Cèdre-Orange is larded with Shea butter. Odd thing is, though, I can't tell the difference between this soap's finish and the finish of yesterday's Havane, which is made without any Shea butter. Both soaps leave my face smooth and happy for a full ten hours without any nicks or irritation. Today's lather smelled like cedar and orange. No surprises there. The wood kept it all from smelling like breakfast.

This is a soap which I have to work for the lather.  It starts off airy but after a few minutes of brush-strokes, it develops into a more paste-like consistency.  At that point, I have to add water slowly so as not to get back to the "airy" lather.  In the end, this lather gives great protection and is soooooo slick...it's worth the extra time of face-lathering.  BTW, the MT tubs are pure luxury compared to the plastic and even the PETG jars.  There is something about loosening/tightening the lid that just feels good...even the sound makes it worthwhile
