Himalaya t. (Tallow + Steel) earthy spicy
This soap offers quite a jumble of scents. On the label I count twelve fragrance oils, including one we rarely hear of in shave soaps: palmarosa. What's that? Like lemongrass and vetiver, palmarosa is a grass native to India that’s grown for its essential oil. Opinions differ on what exactly the extracted oil smells like. Some say it’s rosy (hence its name ‘palm rose’), while others pick up citrus notes. I plant my nose on the puck and take a deep snort, but I can’t make out anything especially roselike. There’s just too much going on in this fragrance. The floral and citric scents get plowed under by the robust aromas of tobacco, benzoin, and cardamom. A pity it gets lost in the cacophony of scent notes, since the idea of a ‘palm rose’ sounds intriguing.

Never seems to fail on all acounts, slickness - amazing thick lather, good protection and the scent reminds me of a french Cologne— triple milled, so should hang around the den for a while.
