New soap and aftershave this morning with First Line Shave out of St Louis, A Christmas Shave. The scent is decidedly not Christmas to my nose as it is "inspired by Terre d'Hermes" which to my me doesn't say Merry Christmas. That said, the soap offers great slickness and cushion is there too. Post shave was weird in that the immediate post was tight but a couple of minutes later I had zero tightness. Never experienced that before. I did use the matching aftershave and found it worked just fine. So about the scent. I am a huge TdH fan. If you choose this perfectly good soap, note that it is not a dupe of TdH but inspired by it.
Morocco t. (Tallow+Steel) cade, cedar, juniper, cypress
Smoky, sappy, and loud, T+S Morocco is a lot like MT’s Strong ’n Scottish, but without the booze. I’ve tried several soaps with “Morocco” in their names. They usually come out smelling like spice, amber, or patchouli and give off a certain hippie vibe. T+S goes in a completely different direction. There’s nothing groovy about the smell of their Morocco soap. It will stand you up against the wall and clobber your cheeks with a log of ashy cade that just might knock the whiskers right from their follicles.
