For a guy who hit the wall awhile back I sure have a lot of new soaps to try. That Movember box really lit a fire but ready to get back to my tried and true favorites but not before a quick summary of this mornings shave with Talbot Shaving Authors Ridge. Talbots base is new to me but I'll tell you it's a good one. Offers that face-hug I really enjoy. The scent is a nod to fresh earth and the maker does a pretty good job of painting that picture. It's definitely a fall scent. Love the scent. Don't want the aftershave if it has any "linger" at all. This one is not an office or date night scent but it sure paints a picture. Lather is medium to low structure. Slickness and cushion are nearly perfect. Label art is engaging. Finish is top shelf. I still haven't applied any post-shave and my skin feels fine.
Stirling Soap Company Autumn Glory
This soap itself to me has a modern, clean, and slightly industrial scent that I really enjoy. The “autumn” is more present in the splash. As with Stirling’s soaps in general, great lathers can be had by loading heavily and adding a sufficient amount of water.
Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”
