The scent was Hydra (all the citrus in the world) and I liked that but the lather was just ok. They have gone through at least one base change since the and I went ahead and picked up Anne Bonney, their bay rum offering. Well, the scent is a great, solid, bay rum. Very very nice. Strength is 7/10 perfection. Lather would indicate a high-butter low structure affair that gave very nice slickness and cushion. Three passes and I felt just a bit of tingle from the spices in the mix but nothing uncomfortable. (Cinnamon is muy malo for me) so many bay rums are out even though I love them. This one thankfully works, smells great, and shaves! Just what the Doctor ordered. (See what I did there?). I just realized it was this scent and soap that Gareth used when he started this thread 8/19/2015 and 1860 pages ago.
This maker doesn't seem to come up much on this thread. My experience with them is limited but a friend recently gave me a small sample of the Flowers in the Attic scent and although I've only used it a few times the performance seemed quite good. I recall that he indicated this was one of the first scents released in there new Vol. 3 base and that it was a definite improvement over the first two. Like B & M it looks they are slowly moving over each scent to the new base.
