The snazzy metalic label on the tin is about as delicate as the scent. If you want to keep your tin looking pristine, it would be best not to stack another tin on top of it. The soap inside, though, is robust. With a long load, you can count on a stable, sleek lather and a supple finish. Keep in mind, though, that LPL’s cushion isn’t the deepest. A mild razor works best for me. Today I chose a Feather AS D2. Tilted way back, it gave a close, comfortable shave without irritation.

Martin de Candre shaving soap

Lavender is an awesome scent.  Floral without being too feminine.  Powerful without being cloying.  Tough guy with a soft side gloriousness.  And B&Ms rendition in the Latha line has me wishing this one was still available.  This base shows the total lack of need for additional and never-ending soap base releases with their ever-increasing price tag.  Great soap.  Great shave.
