Traditionnel v. (Le Père Lucien) lemon, rosemary, thyme, lavender, eucalyptus
It’s not listed in the notes, but I sense a good wedge of cedar in the fragrance. What I'm smelling is probably the eucalyptus, which in this soap is quite smooth and easy. It works brilliantly with the aromatics and citrus to give the impression of an herb garden on a sunny slope in Provence. I’m mad for this stuff, and it’s not just the scent that has me unhinged. The lather that this 2019 vintage of Traditionnel produces works wonders on my skin. A generous helping of water makes it very slick, and the Shea butter soaks up the latent moisture from our humid air like a sponge. The cushion may still be a bit too thin to allow for a three-pass shave day after day, but a once-a-week shearing with this soap is a true pleasure to look forward to.
